It’s an unfortunate fact that as we age, our Teeth Whitening begin to darken, making them less attractive and even embarrassing in some social situations. The good news is that you can do something about this with some simple changes to your daily routine! You can whiten your teeth in the privacy of your home using natural products, or you can see your dentist learn how they might be able to help you out. Whatever method you choose, here are the five best natural ways to whiten your teeth!

Good Old Fashioned Floss

Flossing your teeth regularly will help reduce plaque and make your gums feel healthier. Start by ripping off about 18 inches of floss, and tie a knot at the end of one end. With the other, use it to poke it under your bottom teeth where they meet your gums. Hold onto both ends and slowly slide the floss over each tooth. Over time you can slowly move up until you’re scraping all of your top teeth. Be sure not to bend the floss back on itself as this can cause damage. Once you’re done with this step, do the same thing with your top row of teeth from just below the gum line until you reach all of them (which is an upper arch). After that, you should be ready for dinner or brushing!

Who Knew Baking Soda Could Whiten Teeth?

Baking soda is one of the best, inexpensive ways to whiten teeth. Here are five natural ways you can use baking soda for this purpose:

1. Brush your teeth with baking soda instead of toothpaste – Use a pinch or two on your toothbrush instead of toothpaste, which is full of chemicals. The acidity in the baking soda will help remove surface stains, and the abrasive properties help remove plaque on the gums and teeth. 2. Rinse with a paste made from water and baking soda – mix two teaspoons of baking soda and two tablespoons of water and rinse with this mixture to get rid of the smell left by coffee, or garlic that has stained your teeth; 3.

Bentonite Clay Mask

Bentonite clay can also be used to make homemade toothpaste. Mix bentonite clay with just enough water until it is creamy, put it in your hand, and apply it to your teeth. You can leave the mask for about 5 minutes, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water. Alternatively, you can form the paste into little balls and put them in between your cheek and gum line for 5 minutes.

After rinsing the mixture off, you will notice that your teeth will be noticeably whiter! If desired you can add flavor such as lemon juice or peppermint extract by stirring them into the mixture before applying it to your teeth.

Activated Charcoal Teeth Whitening Powder

It is possible that you may not have heard of using apple cider vinegar as a mouthwash before. But, this simple, cheap alternative is an excellent natural way to whiten teeth. Apple cider vinegar has many properties that can help make your teeth whiter. It contains anti-microbial and anti-fungal agents which are both excellent for combating bacteria in the mouth that can cause plaque and tartar build which then lead to tooth discoloration. Furthermore, apple cider vinegar is acidic and thus helps break down stains on teeth over time as well as it has a low pH value which also makes it an excellent remineralizing agent for healthy teeth and gums.

Apple Cider Vinegar Mouthwash

This is the most effective and inexpensive of all methods. Dilute 1 tablespoon of organic, unfiltered apple cider vinegar in 8 ounces of water. Gargle and rinse with it for 30 seconds and spit it out. Be careful not to swallow the solution. Rinse your mouth with water afterward and repeat this process twice a day until you achieve the desired results. The acidity in ACV destroys plaque on teeth and reduces inflammation of gums. It also helps kill bacteria that cause cavities. Another great thing about this treatment is that it does not have any side effects.
